Default my fault or there's? head gasket issue

I just had my head gasket replaced on my 94 gsr at 123819 miles. Which was 2 weeks ago. I also have new valve sleeves. Since I've got it back from the honda dealer i've put on 1135 miles. Two days ago i had full oil and full coolant levels. Today while driving i ran out of coolant and i'm 2 quarts low on oil. I have a small bead of oil in the same spot my first leak was on the head gasket. Do you think they messed up on the head gasket job? plus they never got me a new thermostat, or asked me about my water pump. I'm not to sure yet if it is the head gasket or my thermostat is stuck open or somethin. So case and point who's fault is it that I'm loosing fluids? (here's something to think about: I've waited to get this car since i was 15, i bought my dream when i was 19, I'm a girl, I've lived in my dad's mechanic shop since i was born. It was a birthday present to myself. I'm still paying for it and don't wanna give it up for the world.)

Have you contacted the dealer and told them about the issues that the car is having? If not I would do that first before anything. As hard as it may be don't go there all pissed off because that will get you nowhere really fast.

You do know that even when you change the headgasket on a motor you have to drive around for x amount of miles and then re-torque the head again. the dealer didn't tell you that did they??

Just curious, if your dad owns an auto shop, why you took your car to Honda dlr?
Take it back to the dealer, tell them to fix what you paid for.

The Helm's manual makes no mention of retorqing the head bolts or replacing the studs for that matter.

I have pulled my head and replaced, didn't retorque bolts after initial installation, didn't replace head bolts, used the stockers, and 50K miles later, all is fine.

no they didn't tell me about any re-torque or nothin and the reason i didn't have my dad do it is because he live 200 mi away from me. another question i have is why would it take double the amout of fluids after the head gasket job than before. (p.s. it's gettin towed to the dealer as i speak.) has anyone seen/heard about the the block being warped? that might be my problem but wouldn't they have to check that anyways???? can the block between a ls or a gs block be put in and i just add my gsr head right? their might be more to it than i think.....

well if you have a gsr then to re-torqueing headstuds would be a tedious job. Considering you have to take out the cams to get to the headstuds that would require taking off the timing belt in the process.

I use golden eagle headstuds on my builds with no problems yet.

Good luck and you should ask them when they check your head if it was square and if there were any signs of being warped. They should have measured your head/block surfaces with a straight edge to make sure there was a flat sealing surface.

I agree don't go in upset but do some research if you can so you don't go back without knowing some of what you are saying.

thanks for the good ideas and the shop told me that everything was ok I just had a coolant hose burst and the "oil was being absorbed by some rings and seals", I did get new studs when i had the gasket done. They did another compression test and said it came out ok but they refused to tell me the numbers.... i asked for them prior to the gasket too. I don't know what's up with that. They also informed me that they always check the block and it "wasn't warped", and the head was sent to a machine shop so all I have really is what they say they did. I don't have much to go by because they won't tell me anything in great detail. And my downfall is I don't have time to talk with them about other questions.

(pretty sure the comment's about me all pissed off is kinda frustrating and unnessary because i was rather inquisitive than pissed. Sorry for any miscommunication. And trust me I'm pretty sure I have some knowledge of what I need and want before I go and get somethin fixed, it's not that hard to figure out... for me anyways. I just like to hear what others have experienced and such since i did join this for that purpose....)
