Default Removing sound insulation

Several years back I had a very dumb idea that I needed sound insulation in my civicl. The car's been sitting for a long time and I've finally gotten the ambition to work on it. It's going to be a drag car....but....theres about 50-70lbs of "fake" dynamat stuck to my floorboards.
Is there anyone out there that can recomend a decent way to remove this stuff? It's stuck pretty good and theres a whole lot of it.
So far I tried a heat gun. That sorta kinda worked, but made more mess than anything else. I gotta wonder about the saftey on that too
I thought about using a block of dry ice, but theres a ton to remove : /
I believe the name of this stuff is brown bread. Very tar-like.
Any help is much appreciated.

Dry ice should work well. Just get it put it on until you hear it cracking and start scraping it off

Why is this is welding and fabrication? You're not welding OR fabbing anything? Mod needs to move it.

this is where the post belongs. reason being is that everyone who installs cages has to take that stuff off, and this is the section that all the cage fabricators hang out most often. so backoff son. haha

P.S. dry is what works the best or even if you do it in cold weather the stuff breaks off fairly nicely. just pound it with a hammer to break it loose of the floor and use a chisel and hammer.

to get the rest of the residue and stuff that you can't scrape off you can use 90% rubbing alchol and lots and lots of elbow grease.. its really tireing but it works.

Oops, checked this a bit late sorry

It seems dry ice is the way to go. I'm going to give that a try. Is there a store I can go to to get dry ice? I'm afraid this has strangely never come up before

As to the whiner who is telling me to move this post:
Dont waste your time replying if you dont like it.
It doesnt really fit in any category as far as I can tell.
I thought welding/fab is most appropriate as I would consider this a custom project.
I thought the people in this forum would be more likely to give me a creative and effective solution.

Of and I am fab something. I'm building the car of my dreams (thumbs nose)

Grab a phone book and look up dry ice or most bigger ice cream stores have it.

if you dont find a place for dry ice, get your self a can of air, the kind you clean keyboards with and such, flip that sucker upside down and spray the insulation... it will freeze it in a second and will come rigth off.
