Quick question regarding the TypeR transmission assembly part number: 20011-P80-J41...

Does it come with the LSD installed?

I'm getting conflicting information on this...

From what I understand it comes complete. Is that the route your are taking?

That seems to be the information I'm getting from Acura in the US. Honda Canada seems to be a little confused on this. I hope to get this confirmed shortly.

Yes... I'm tired of trouble shooting this... it's time to put the issue to bed and simply buy a new tranny.

 

Just got a confirmation from Acura that it does come with the LSD... Part ordered and arrives tomorrow.

Yea, I dont remember hearing the verdict with the thicker fluid... I just got off the phone with my dealership, it does come with lsd/completely assembled. What are you doing with the broken tranny?

 

My long story:

- I was having bearing problems with my old tranny and sold it (as is, with full discloser for half the price of a new tranny) to someone who will rebuild it.
- Found this tranny which was recently rebuilt and had the ATS FD installed. Agreed to buy it (for more then the cost of a new tranny) when the buyer told me it was in mint condition. Installed the tranny after my engine rebuild only to discover it had major noise/bearing issues.
- Thought about using thicker oil but think that is a waist of time/money after hearing various opinions on it.
- Considered having the ATS tranny rebuilt at the owners expense but haven’t been able to get a hold of him.
- Just bought a new tranny and will give the ATS tranny back to its owner when I see him again.

I'm sick of fighting this battle... I do have a JDM FD that I can install in the new tranny but I think I will wait until I've got everything running and dialed in before I mess with the new tranny.
