starting issues
1989 hatch DX 5spd 180k.
So I'm a bit baffled by this issue. I've recently replaced the fuel filter thinking it was the problem but it didn't fix it.
In the morning the civic will *sometimes* not want to start. It cranks but sounds like it isn't getting any fuel. You crank it a few times and pump the gas and finally it will start. It sounds rough as hell though and you have to hold the gas down for a while or else it will die. Eventually it evens out and idles fine.
If you have been driving it for a few hours it will crank just fine. If it sits for a few hours though it is hard again to crank and has the same symptom.
Now the weird thing is that this isn't consistent. Some times it will happen and sometimes it won't at all. I can't seem to figure any relation between time/fuel/etc.
Any ideas where I should start? Cap/Distributor/Plugs/Wires? Fuel Pump?
