Default Cluster lights flicker once Ignition placed in ON position

I have a friend that once you turn the key to ON the cluster lights flicker and you can hear the relay flicker. This also caused the clock light to not turn on any more. Did a search but nothing matched this problem. Checked all fuses and they were good. Thinking it could be the altenator but car wasnt started and everything else still works. Battery doesnt drain and car still starts like a champ. What could be the problem. Thanks in advance. Could it possible be the radio short circuted and cause this problem. Cos from what I was told this never happend till it was installed. I checked the wiring in back and everything was perfect. Radio Harness was used and non of the wires were sliced. Everything was installed properly.

Usually when lights flicker it's because the battery is weak. Or maybe faulty wiring if he has an alarm.

Yeah i thought it would be the battery but it still seems pretty Strong. Still starts teh car. I notice that once i took the face out from the radio it didnt flicker so just wanted to see if the deck could cause this.

Well I would still say the battery doesn't have enough juice to run the head unit and speakers. If it was correctly installed, you checked the fuses and everything else I'd just have the batter tested as a last resort. If not just swap your battery in there and see if it still does it.
