Car Wont Start
I have a 1992 honda accord lx and the other day I was driving on the highway and my car shut off in the middle of the highway. I was going about 15 MPH beacause of the weather and the car started to slow down. Saw that the RPMs were just moving when i hit the gas but there wasnt any power going to the tires. Car then shut off and now everytime that I try to start it all I hear is the starter spinning, the engine doesnt even try to crank. Checked the timming belt thinking maybe it had broken but the belt was good and still on the pulleys. What else Can I look for.
Spark and fuel pressure should be checked.
pull a plug wire and put a screwdriver in to it and hold the metal part of the screwdriver close to the valve cover nut; have some one crank the car to see if there is a spark. [Note: hold on to the insulated part of the screwdriver so you don't get shocked]
There is a bolt on the fuel rail you can just slightly loosen it and again turn the key on to see if there is fuel getting to the injector rail.

Are you saying that the engine was still running and the RPMs increased when you tried to accelerate, but the speed didn't increase and that the starter turns, but the engine does not? Or does the engine rotate when trying to start it, but won't fire?

Ok this sounds like the Clutch is slipping horribly....another possibility is "Jumping Time" like a couple of teeth went bad on the belt and jumped time....which can cause a whole slew of problems for you....and still Disguise to look as if the timing belt is tight and in place....I also seen that the Weaher was bad....do u have a Long-ram cold air intake....if so it is possible you Hydro-locked the engine....but stick to the small stuff first....those are the easiest things to overlook

Funny, I just had the same thing happen to my 90 accord today. I got on the highway and the car just died. I pulled over and checked fuel pressure and ignition to find out that I had no spark. I replaced my ignitor module, but the car still will not start. have you found out anything about your car yet?
