I WISH MY CRX WOULD BURN DOWN
ok so i been having the same problem with this car for a while. The trans keeps popping out of second gear on hard right turns. the shift forks and new interlock were replaced yet it still does it, i also put in a new hasport linkage in. i am on a verge of starting my car on fire and letting it burn, i hate it so much. What else could be causing this stupid problem? ps the trans is an S1
i bet that if you ship the car and title over to me you wont have that problem anymore
... just a guess but it could have something to do with your axles... ive never heard/had this problem with anyones cars so i have no clue really

word, im so pissed im considering pulling the B out and throwing a D in the there. Anyone else have any clue what could cause this?

How does the snap ring on the axle look ? Maybe try expanding it a bit ? We had to do that with out h22 swap in our eg, if you use b series axles the solution is to expand the snap ring a bit.
Also, how easy does it pull back out of the transmission ? You could try an axle spacer ( custom made we use ) this allows the axle not to sit so deep inside the hub, and it basically won't allow it to pop out of the transmission.

so you think this is an axel problem? would it jump out of gears other than 2nd?

Does it ever get past second gear ? It could be a few things, hard to diagnose over the internet.

im not sure what you mean, but the car drive fine, only jumps out of second gear on hard right turns. mounts are new same with the shift linkage, so i think it might be a synco or an axel problem. 1st and 2nd shift forks and interlock were just replaced in the trans

hmm, what shift linkage are you running? have you checked under the car to make sure there is nothing that might interfere with the linkage? I dont see how axle problems would make it pop out of gear, but if the motor is moving around under cornering, the linkage could be catching on the exhaust or somthing else, which might knock it out of gear.

hasport linkage, stock 2inch exhaust nothing is hitting, im puzzled

I doubt you will find anyone, since its more of a custom thing we came up with. Original we did a b16 swap on a crx and I guess the frame was tweaked, when the axle nut was tighten all the way down the wheel would stop spinning.... an axle spacer later it fixed the issue.

It sounds too me like the axle is getting "pulled" out of the transmission. Like RCautoworks said, try loosening the axle nut. Torque it to spec, not over spec.

Why does it sound like that? Maybe I am misunderstanding, but he said it pops out of gear. i am having trouble picturing why the axle pulling out would pop the car out of gear. If it was just losing power then sure, it could be a cv pulling apart, but it should stay in gear.
Were the little ball springs that hold the tranny in gear replaced when the shift forks were replaced? was it having this problem before you replaced the shift forks, or is this something that started happening after the tranny rebuild?

it was happening before, hence why the trans got new shift forks, i though that was causing the problem, but now im not sure.

did you put the shift forks in, or did you have someone else do it? did you check the ***** and springs that hold the tranny in gear to make sure there was nothing seriously wrong with them? Also, when you say it pops out on hard right turns, what do you mean by hard? do you mean fast, high g force turns, or slow, steering wheel at full lock turns?
Do you have a short shifter on the car? If so, slide under the car and check to make sure the shifter doesnt hang anywhere near the exhaust, since short shifters will push the shift linkage closer to the exhaust. also make sure all your exhaust hangers are connected and in good shape. If the exhaust is moving around a bunch when you turn, it could be bumping the linkage and taking you out of gear.

it will do it on most right turns in second if you turn the wheel hard into the corner, if its more of a gental turn it stays in gear ,no short shifter, exhaust not hitting anything. A shop replaced the shift forks and this is what they said might be causing the probelm.
