ok so i had some aftermarket subs hooked up to the stock HU in my SI the way that others on here and 8th have done and its was fine, but then maybe 30 minutes after driving I went to accelerate hard and when VTEC shouldve kicked in, the car just shuddered and didnt want to do anything. I had to take it out of gear and put it back in just to keep it driving again normally. I checked all the little fuses but couldnt find anything. Any suggestions?"

 

check your oil

 

the stock head unit has RCA outputs?

 

no the stock unit does not have RCAs you get a LOC. and its not the oil. the car only has 500 miles on it. Im thinking its gotta be electrical

 

was your engine cold?

 

If Vtec is not working, it will throw a CEL.

 

did you check the electrical wires that were moved/altered/etc. in the engine compartment?

id still check the oil. u never know. dealerships definitely overlook these things during prep. CEL? maybe, engine was still cold
