Please Help!! Calling ALL Techs!!! Need Valve Info Please!
I bent all my valves and the shop thats doing the install showed me that the valve guides need to be honed cause the new valves that I purchase won't slide right in the guides. Is there any special technique or procedure of installing these valves on the guides. I thought the valves should go right in.
I also took the bent valves see if I had different guides and still the bent valves didn't slide into the new guides.
These are the parts numbers of the new guides:
Exhaust Guides: 12205-pr3-305
Intake Guides: 12204-pr3-305
Are these the correct guides.

Since we're in the ITR forum and you made no mention of what car you own, I assume it's an ITR with an ITR engine. In that case, the B16 (PR3) valve guides you have will work.

But the guides don't slide right in. Is this normal. Do I have to get the guides honed to fit the valves?

Sorry, what I meant to say was the valves don't slide right in the guides? Is this normal. Do I have to get the guides honed to fit the valves or do I need a machine shop to press the valves to go in the guides?

Thanks guys. Any more suggestions or comments?
Hehe I'd be wary trusting people off the internet who don't speak from experience. Some else want to give Jeff some piece of mind?
