Default Wondering if anybody would know what would cause Sputtering, erratic idling while warming up, and al

i have a 93 lude that was some what storred for the winter. i drove it occasionally on nice days, but lately it sputters heavily, idles erratically while warming up, and generally sputters like a slurring 98 year old drunk man. any ideas what would do this? i've run a search on my cars symptoms and no results, so maybe i m just not searching for the right criteria. thanks in advance for any support
Also the motor ticks like a motha fuka on acid. any thoughts what could do that? i belive its valve related. would you think a valve adjustment would help quite it up?

anybody? Also, i wanted to do a check on my IAT sensor to see if that was the problem(intake air temperature sensor). if I disconnected the IAT sensor ( it should throw a code) but will the car's ECU impliment a factory/fail safe code to allow the car to still run when i turn it over? I want to see how it would idle without the IAT sensor in it. No perminant damage would result im sure by unplugging IAT for a couple test drives?
