I have the same sensor, i also don't see a notch now that you have brought it to my attention. A nice write-up of the install would help .

Generally on soic chips when you turn it so you can read the wording its the bottom left pin. So I would say the pin by the 'k'. I was just building something with a motorola soic chip that had no markings either, however it followed this theory.

Um, there is a very old saying; "Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime."

just fyi i looked at the data sheets before answering the post and it just says pin 1 is the chamfered edge. It looks like they're talking about the other available package. From the pic, that one doesn't look like it has any chamfered edge.

c'mon man.

They are certainly talking about the other package; I have that sensor on my personal build.

To the original poster - 5 out of the 8 pins are not used. It was quite easy to find a datasheet on that sensor, but it was still unclear within the documentation. Can you take a better picture of the bottom of the sensor please?

http://www.freescale.com/files...A.pdf

If I had to guess.... the top pins are not used. The pin all the way to the left is also not connected, leaving the remaining three pins on the bottom... but like I said thats just a guess.

Vs (+5v signal)
Gnd (signal ground)
Vo (output voltage)

Also-

From hondata's site for a B series harness
GND Green/White
MAP signal White
5V Yellow/Red

If this doesn't help, I may have one here in a lab... or I can order a sample and try it out here. I am sure the sample would make it to me in a timely manner given where I work

Let me know how I can help and I will

If you look at it from underneith (port facing away), you'll see one of the bottom corners has a different shape (chamfered). The pin closest is pin #1. With this package, they used a cap/top that didn't keep that chamfered edge from top to bottom, so you won't see it looking from top-down.

For theses sensor packages:

#2 = Vs (+5v signal)
#3 = Gnd (signal ground)
#4 = Vout (output voltage)

Crap - sorry for the delayed response, I didnt see it until now.

That looks good to me, I wish that documentation was a little more descriptive though.

You can buy these gems from most places that sell the ported 2.5bar, except - for less. Like $13+6 shipped for the one pictured. They don't make the 3bar in a ported version like the 2.5, but all thats needed is to put it in a small housing, box, etc and hook it to the manifold.

BTW thats a good picture, not many people know about the macro setting

For ease of making these fit on your vehicle, Dave B and I developed a small circuit board. Fits nicely inside a stock MAP sensor housing

On a similar note... My OEM map does not have the yellow/red +5v wire. Its got

grn/wht (ground I believe)
white (Vo I believe)
yel/wht (+5v???)

Is the above correct?
