Fluctuating Idle in Park and Neutral... TPS problem???
I have a 92 Civic DX auto. D15B7 engine
So, in park and neutral, the RPM's rise and fall continuously. The idle fluctuates like this over and over until put into drive or reverse. Could this possibly be a Throttle Positioning Sensor problem? I'm going to check the timing and idle speed tomorrow and see if it could possibly be that. But, is there a way to check/test the TPS?
any input would be great, thanks!

Nah, pick up some carb cleaner. Unbolt the IACV from the IM & spray the two openings down. Then bolt it back together.
It might be hard to start at first, but that should fix the problem.

i cleaned the iacv really well and it solved the problem... well kinda. It solved it for a while, but it seems that when the car reaches the normal operating temperature, it starts to do the fluctuating crap again in park and neutral. what and where is the FITV?
thanks!
thanks!

Fitv is located underneath your throttle body. Take off your intake and look in the throttle body for a finger sized hole near the left wall. Start your car, put a sock over your finger (dont want to pinch your finger) and plug it with your finger while the car is running,if it fixes your idle then take off your fitv and tighten it.
