i have a stock 93 accord but i dont know what type of engine it is i know its a 2.2l but everyone has names and what not

 

just look on your block it will be writen in raised metal near the tranny most likely

 

f22xx being if its vtec or not

f22ax-vtec
f22bx-non vtec

 

F22A1s are NON Vtec.....

so then its gunna be either an f22a or f22b, most likely an a.

 

its not going to be vtec. there was no vtec in accords until the generation after. what trim is your car? dx, lx, ex, or se?

94 was the first year of the Vtec Accord in north america I believe. So I doubt that he has an F22B1.

I'm willing to bet its an an F22A1, or F22A6 depending on trim level of the car.

 

the only engines that were stock in the 90-93 Accords were the F22A1, F22A4 and F22A6 which were all 2.2L SOHC non-VTEC.

to know what motor you have you need to post the trim level.

:Side Note:
The F22B1 (2.2L SOHC VTEC) and F22B2 (2.2L SOHC non-VTEC) motors were stock on the 94-97 Accords.

 

If the trim level is:

DX, then your car has a F22A1 (125 hp, 137 tq)
LX, then your car has a F22A1 (125 hp, 137 tq)
EX, then your car has a F22A6 (140 hp, 142 tq)

 

not true. i have a F22A4 in mine, and i don have 140HP and all that.. i have the EX trim 1990 accord.

 

because F22a6 only came in

1991 SE

1992-93 EX/SE

 

incorrect the 91 canadian ex-r also has f22a6 the american ex equivelant has f22a4

 

the a6 only came in 92-93. only thing i liked was abs and it had 4-2-1 header more exhaust flow....
