So F'in loud!
Is there actually an exhaust made for my Ep3 that isnt ungodly loud. I went on a limb and bought one that looks really good (Magnaflow) ahemm, and it sounds deep, smoothe, quiet at idle, but its f*ckin loud! I havent had a car with an exhaust for like 2 years, and i want something that will open her up, but damn! I couldnt ride a date anywhere! It isnt rattley or bumble bee ish, its just f*cking loud... I am not interested in gettin flamed or your opinions on the company because in my opinion it looks much better than a 4 inch tip! ( its two 2 1/4ish tips side by side ) looks like a beefy polished stock muffler. OR is there something i could do to quiet the beeyatch down. The last car i had was a CRX w/ b16 with Invidia cat back. I am slightly dissapointed in the noise! I need to get the decibles checked to know so I could judge whether its actually that loud or its just me on the first day with it... Any way Thanks for reading and opinion on...
if rs*r makes any exhust for your car i would go with that then comptech if you can find one. but if you going to go custom and want it quite as possible find the biggest resonator possible or run maybe a 05+ dc5 muffler. good luck. if nothing works for you just blast the radio on a date................... maybe

I got the JL rockin out, but its too much noise on my 40 mile drive to work at 6:15 in the am after just having woke up! And is there any difference in the exhaust piping the comes from the cat back on a 05+ Dc5 or is the difference just in the axle back section? And Does it bolt straight up? Do I need anything else other than the axle back section? Thanks for the info!

Yes, use a larger B-pipe in conjunction with the OEM EP3 muffler. The OEM muffler flows *very* well. All the restriction is in the B-pipe. Not sure why people have forgotten about this.
The OEM muffler sounds dang good with a resonator-less B-pipe. Not loud, but very throaty. Beats every exhaust on the market IMO, unless you just like loud exhausts.

I have located a 05 Rsx-s Catback for 90 bucks. My ep3 exhaust was fucked up due to a wreck, will be here tomorrow, but what you all are sayin is that I should make the pipe that connects the cat to the axle back bigger? How much bigger? Whats the stock diameter as opposed to the size I should go to, and also, you all are saying i should remove the resonator? Doesnt that have a part to do with back pressure? And isnt back pressure important?
I hear you. I've had the same magnaflow catback for the last 2 years and I agree "It's loud". I even threw on a resonator but on the freeways', It can be annoying. Soon to switch to something quiet. i.e. greddy, apex!world sport etc.......

Tell the bitch to deal. My woman hates how everytime I mod my car it gets louder.
You just have to set priorities.

I myself have a magnaflow muffler on my DC5 and I like it. At first I didn't have the resonator, but my dad took it for a "test drive" and one block later got pulled over by the cop who lives around the corner. So got a fix it ticket, and got the resonator. With it on, it sounds more quieter, and to me a better sound. So instead of getting a new cat, I say just get the resonator installed.
