For most hack jobs using a tiny turbine it wouldn't be over kill just not the best, 3inch on more large setups is a great size.

Cherry bomb makes a good cheap resonator looking "muffler" that does a good job at keeping the noise down but has a straight through design. And you can order them for like $49

i agree....but it does depend on the turbo he's using
as far as muffler you can't go wrong with flowmaster or borla

It greatly depends on the series of flowmaster, I've been doing some reading as of late, did you know if you install flow master 80series on a stock c5 z06 you will lose power?
The baffling they use to creat the sound disrupts the exhaust gas pluses taking away some of the power, and on a car with a freaking great exhaust like the z06 it can really hurt.
Now something like a flowmaster 1 chamber race muffler you will be almost sure to pick some up, but it'll be LOUD.

yeah no doubt, but it will still sound better than the usual grapefruit shooter/fartcan
