Default kens kustom chassis roll cages

Hey guys, just wondering if anyone has dealt with the Kens Kustom roll cages before? I am looking into a kit for my hatch. I would like to get a custom one done but don’t have the funds for that at this time. I have heard that the fitment is good but was wondering if anyone here has any experience with it themselves or has any other companies that are good. TIA

Their kits are ****.

Mine fits really tight (tight like BigTom's cages) and they laft plenty of slack all around per my request. They also use a one piece pillar design instead of the halo design.

I got their 10pt Chromoly cage for my 00 DC2.

Only thing I had to buy was a tubing notcher.... no big deal because I wanted one anyways.

Ken was great to deal with. Even Joan was pretty knowledgeable on their stuff. I would deffinately buy from them again.

Well it has been ordered and should be at the shop in a week or so. Not to bad of a price. I will post some pictures up when I get back to the states and start putting everything in and start the body work and paint

This should be a busy time while I am home working on my POS

the shipping was ~150 for fedex from PA to VA.... not to bad for a 10 point cage I guess

im in the middle of putting in my KKC cage right now. i didnt buy a notcher unfortunately so ive been doing all the notching with a hand grinder. only thing i have a problem with is the door bars bend out to fit the seat but it doesnt clear the door panels. here is a couple pics. keep in mind im not a chassis shop and never did a cage before.

It is for the most part. They leave some stuff un-notched so that you can do it yourself to get the tightest fit.

My main hoop is actually tighter to the body than Rob's....

Rob. If you were to cut the bottom of the front pillar bars you could get them closer to the pillar itself. It looks like it may be too late though.

well in the pic the bottom of the pillar bar is not welded to the plate. i have bent it over and ill weld it while its pulled over. im able to get it within two finger widths of the pillar. the drivers side is pretty much where its going to be in the pic, however the pillar is not in as of yet.

youre not going to. its pre fabbed. what do you expect? you expect it to fit as close as the cage you make? if thats the case then your going to have to keep looking but dont get your hopes up. its impossible to make a cage pre bent to fit perfect. we buy these pre bent ones because we want to race and cant afford to spend a fortune to have a chassis place do them. and frankly i think this is just as safe as the ones that fit closer to the plastics. granted they dont look as nice but thats the sacrifice you make when you refuse to fork out 2k plus on a cage.

Why couldn't a pre fabbed cage be bent to fit properly?

so your saying they dont fit properly? i think they fit properly but they cant hug the interior as close as you would like because sure they are made for that car but every cage goes in a different way especially when non professionals are installing them. if i had more experience with putting a cage in a car i could make it fit much better but lets be honest here, its impossible to make a prebent cage hug every interior plastic to the point its almost touching. i just dont see what the problem with the cage is. isnt it doing its purpose? to protect the driver?

Yeah, it serves it's purpose if the driver can fit in the car with a helmet on and the helmet not touch the cage...

i have a kens 6pt now and ordered a 10pt. i can tell already the main hoop is shaped differently. taking a measurement off each of the main hoops i already see that the main hoop provided with the 10pt it wider. since i still have my 6pt in i havent begun putting in the 10pt yet.
