i had a weird thing happen last friday, i was in traffic, and i noticed my
cd player started getting stuck, and blinking, and so i turned off my
ignition at a long stop light, cause i needed to access the lock box
behind me,..............when i went to start it up again, it died, so i
had someone jump start it for me, and it started up immediately.
then about one minute of driving later, i noticed headlights, blinker,
hazards were'nt working, and it died again at the next stop light.
ok, now someone else helped, and tried jumping it like 4-5 times, and each
time, it started, but then it stalled out after like a minute or so, and
so i got it towed home, and rode in the tow truck home.
the next day, i took my battery in and it tested "good", i put it back in
the car and made sure it was tight, and that night the car started by
itself, and i rode around for 20 minutes with no problems at all.
next day, i got my alternator tested also, and sure enough it
tested "good", and its been like a week since i was stalled out last
friday, and since i know that the battery and alternator is good, now i am
confused to why that problem happened to me? and i want to know what is
wrong, and i am thinking its like a short in the electrical system or
something, but.......basically, i just want to know how i can check for a
short or for what that problem i had was????
any opinions would help,
........................................it could even be a loose battery terminal, etc....
i had also recently replaced
the ecu with a modified one (locashracing ecu), but its working fine.
is there a part on the ecu that controls the alternator at all? if so, then maybe i need to switch back to the stock ecu???
i checked my fuses and none are broken, they are all good, and i did the trouble code ecu thing, and its not throwing any codes.
it just sucks, cause since i am worrying that it will do this to me again, cause i was planning on going out of town this weekend, but since i am not sure why my car did died on me, i am not going to take that risk.
any opinions or help would be appreciated, thanks
