car runs for 5 min. then dies....repeat

98 honda accord lx 4 cyl vtec
car will run for a bit then dies and will run again after about 5-10 min. of waiting. what could be the problem. could it be the alternator or something else?

ignition switch recall been done?
If the Alt was dying you'd probably see a RED battery light when the engine is running.

what is a ignition switch recall?

if alternator is bad would RED battery light come on if battery is new?
