Australias fastest B16A turbo
just thort id show you australias fastest b16a powerd crx, best time to date is a 10.538@ 138.48mph with a 1.65 60ft ( best 60ft so far is a 1.627).
i had gear selection issues all day, im sure its got more in it!
its a stock block b16a with srp pistons, eagle rods, springs and retainers, otherwise internally stock. turbo is a t60-1 (0.63 a/r) 27psi, 38mm tial gate, custom hi-mount manifold, edlebrock inlet manifold and throttle body, motec m400 ecu, m&w cdi 4 channel ignition,0s-giken twin plate, si gearbox, pro-drive stage 2 drive line, m/t 26x8.5x15 slix.
huge thanks to Gerry McCarthy (aclass automotive), jeromie hicks (eggum racing) and jim & deni (Online performance)
next on the list is to sort out gear selection issues, play with the launch and try get it to 60ft in the high 1.5s, hopefully all this should help it go 10.20s at over 140mph.
after we run a 10.20 i might fit some wheelie bars, cams and turn the boost up, hopefully run a high 9! ( unless the little engine goes bang! )

niiice!
we just got a RHD Glass top CRX here, planned to use it for SFWD but we were concerned about the glass top. What do you think? Strong enough for the strong vibrations and launches of drag racing? We just dont want to break it and no way of getting another glass top if something like that happens.

yeh its about 5mm thick,i havnt had any trouble with the glass top. i have recently replaced it with lexan and run a net under it, made it alot easier to build the cage with a glass top crx
thats some awsome 60ft's considering your wheel base if I could add a little input I'd go with the 28x10.5x15 and slam the rear end mabey a little wheelie bar set up too. check out our stance... however i'm a coupe and hot rod but still we're going 1.42's keep up the good work

Not Bad...Our firsty year out in SFWD we had a B16 with a T66 we went consistent 10.0s on 26s in the mid 140s..</TD></TR></TABLE>
damn on 26's where are you getting your traction your power must be matched pretty well.

Dont mean to thread jack...
But back then the cars only had to weigh 2300lbs on 26s,we would cut 1.59s 1.60 60 fts on a good day.HP was in the high 500s if i remember correctly.

not sure about h/p, only had it on the dyno once to give it a quick tune on c16 at 20psi and made 350whp.... managed a 11.5 @123mph.... since then we have been tuning it at the track( unloading the data and making changes- we must be doing something right)
what hp you guys think it should be making to run this time/mph?
how much will type r cams help ?

we're making 746whp @ 30psi and applying the same tune at the track hooking 1.42's but mid 6's in the 8th spinning the whole track. power is ideal from the launch but it's to much the rest of the way. we're watching video tapes of where we're spinning so we know where to lower the boost significantly where he needs it.
