i have an obd2 gsr
well i have just gotten a swap into my car
specs-1996 gsr swap gsr tranny stock except aftermarket intake sgort ram
car-1996 civic hatchback dx
problem-well my main problem is that i have very poor mpg i get like 8-10 and that is not hitting vtec when i hit vtec its worse.
i went to the shop that did the install and they said that it will be easyier to convert to obd1 and i will have a lot less problems.
now i am wondering will that be better or make more problems.
the ecu i have says p0p it is not a p72.
i am throwing codes also heres what they are
p1337--crankshaft speed sensor no signal
p0135--primary h02s ciruit malfunction sensor 1bank1
p1381--cyp sensor intermittent interuption
future plans- i am planning on going with a reliable turbo setup 6-7 psi
main questions-
now should i just go have my ecu tuned or should i go obd2 or should i not worry since i am going turbo anyways.

so is this a good ecu i have never heard of it before and he also said that its tuned
but i didnt have my o2 sensor hooked up and its still let it engage in vtec so i was thinking if i can just get the ecu tuned better
what do u think?

Step 1: Hook up both your O2 sensors
Step 2: Use a P72 ecu
You shouldn't be surprised that you are throwing codes for sensors that aren't functioning properly.
Perform a search for P72 on ebay or on Honda-Tech and you will find tons of for-sale ads.

It would be better for you to get the correct ECU like everyone is telling you to do

P2P is for a D16Y8 ('96-00 OBD-2 Civic EX). Your B18C should definitely be running like crap with that.

wait just called the shop
and they made a good point
my engine hits vtec at 4400 rpm and redlines at 8200 so its just the shell of a p2p
so i just need to get it tuned i guess

CKP is in the distributor base. It is not replaceable. If it goes bad, you need to source a new distributor.

Sounds to me that you need to take it back to the shop and have them fix everything. What shop did you go to anyway? (if you dont to publicly post it can you PM me)
Do you plan on getting the car BAR'd? If so dont even worry about the whole tuning thing (hell if its a stock motor you shouldnt worry about the tuning til you go turbo). Next your swap (being that its the same year as your car) is a 100% plug and play setup. If you still have access to your old motor, take your distributor. You could swap the internals with your GSR dist. and 2 of the codes would be gone. Did you ever have a 2nd o2 sensor?

Huh? All D16Y7s have two O2 sensors, just like every other OBD-2 Honda engine . . .
