PLease help!!!
will obd1 ls rods and pistons work with a 1998 B20 block with a type r head??? Also is it ok to use a bone stock B20 with a type r head. is it safe or is there a need for different rods and pistons???? obviously using the vtech conversion kit.
You need to do alot more research.
B20's have an 84mm bore diameter, the LS's have an 81mm bore, so the pistons are two different sizes, but the rods and crank are the same.
The B20 bottom end isn't engineered to rev were the ITR head wants to rev, so you must reinforce the bottom end to allow it to rev that high or only rev to the stock LS redline. The B20 rod bolts are the weak link, so have some ARP's installed and the big end of the rod resized. Balancing the bottom end wouldn't be a bad idea either.
Please search next time, this has been answered many times and the HondaTech community is growing tired of spoon feeding info that a simple search will find.
