Default What I hope to be a useful IHE Thread

obvious n00b question.

What is the best IHE setup fo my VTECH!!1 LOL DC SPORTS, RITE?!?

Im not going to ask that...I just would like to know. With that very pretty carbon fiber J's Intake, J's headers, and a Amuse R1 Titan exaust... how much would that set me back... and if anyone has similar setup or exact...is it worth it?

what are the positive aspects of a custom exaust? besides being ridiculously loud.

I have an invidia exhaust right now, and its alright... kinda annoying for highway driving... but it came with da car because i bought my S off a buddy.

I went to S2000library, and the only exhaust that really made my ears perk was the Amuse. i personally think all of the other clips are of horrible quality for them to really be useful, so if anyone has a exaust that they think is amazing, i want to know of it, please.

ouch...vtech and dc sports...

DC sports makes good stuff for other applications except the S. there is no "best" setup. is $ a factor? do you want hp or bling?

for me its t1R 70MM EXHUAST, j's racing intake, j's racing header

or you can just add the j's or amuse 70mm exhaust instead of the t1r

of course this set up isnt for your poor s2k owner because this set up alone will prob run you over 4000 dollars.

what are you after with your S2 is what matters...many here dont have such items as listed like myself.

the exhaust systems are far over priced you can make a equal flowing one for less without the name, same goes for the intake. they are 100% bling other then having a tit. exhaust which saves a ton of weight, but what is 5-10lbs if that on a exhaust if this is a multi purpose car. Unless you just wanna "floss"

haha, i was kidding about the VTACK and dc sports.

i do own a vtech phone though...its alright i guess.

anyway, yes i know there isnt a best setup.. thats not what i was asking.

i just heard that if you DO have the money.... then the j's intake and header will make you the most gains...besides going all custom.

i hear it is not even worth it to buy anything else? agree disagree?

and as for the exhaust... that i guess i am not too concerened with actuall hp gain, or weight reduction...if was going for that, i would probally do a custom single or something.

the exaust i want is only for hearing pleasure

intake wise would be a AEM most HP compared to the "HIGH $ ones"

header wise doesnt yeild much peak, but slight improvement in mid midrange areas.

The Secret Weapon intake is the only intake worth getting, as it has been proven countless times that it will outperform anything, and the price is very reasonable.

The Buddy Club Race header for the S2000 will be coming out mid to end of April, and that is what I would run, coupled with a nice Buddy Club Spec 4 Exhaust for the nice exhaust note and some weight reduction.

All quality pieces, and all with the proper R&D put into them.

thats why the header should be replaced with a turbo manifold...that will yield a ton of power all over the place

first i have heard as secret weapon as well.

does it live up to its name? how much are we talking for that setup? how much dough? what are the ups and downs?

S@nt0s -

what are the power gains on the aem? is it worth it to replace stock?

Francesco -

what yes what no?

thanks for are your help thus far guys

my pockets are pretty deep... but, i dont want to waste money on this project.

if the downs outway the ups, its just not worth it.

so far im hearing

I - J's or aem
H - J's or stock
E - Amuse R1 Titan, J's or t1r

i have a invidia exhaust on right now... i like it a lot, but it just is too annoying for highway driving, anyone else switch from invidia to something else, with opinion?

and the exhaust is purely for aural pleasure. i dont care if i lose hp as like as it sounds like pure sex.

IMO the AEM is the way to go. I have one and love it. It has good sound to it, and looks great IMO.

This was during install, but you get the idea.

id vote for getting AEM EMS and getting tuned rather than buying I/H/E. no matter what you bolt on, it still wont beat solid good tuning.

im gonna say no... get some 4.77 gears for like $1000 and you'll be set...
go with the AEM or Injen intake... and pick and choose your header/exhaust combo...
Intake - $250
Exhaust - $1000
Header - $800

So for around 3 g's your car will have a sick exhaust and intake note and your car will be signifcantly quicker... my 2 pennies

To each his own, I rather have AEM EMS

Best advice so far

Tracy exhaust is supposed to be good, but im sure its got the JDM price tag with it.

Im not expecting the Invidia to be anything special at all. Its probably re labeled under their name.

and with the money he saves he can put it towards a new motor since his is going to blow because of not running the nitrous properly.
