I don't get why people do that? I mean he is going to see the PM before he reads the thread.. I never understood the point of people sending a PM than posting that they did.

most people check their Pm's right after entering a forum they don't keep checking their mailbox every 5 minutes, i wanted to ask him a few questions via instant messaging before he went offline so posting in my thread is a way to notify him in case he had already checked his mailbox before i sent my message.

danielm3 - when will your 3" aluminum u-bends be ready for purchase?

Dammit tony, this is a message board, not a playground!

I c but don't PM just pop up on this board with every refresh of the page?

As for the 3" Alum u bends, that would be almost impossible to do with a 16g wall. The outside would be way too thin and weak.. you would be able to poke a hole in it with your finger probably.. that is why I am guessing I have only seen up to 90 degrees.

i know.

danielm3 - i have that message pop-up feature on my rx-7 forum but i don't know how to enable it here on H-T.

i think that 16 gauge would be the thinnest part of the u-bend, i just measured a cut u-bend from my scrap box and the un-stretched section of the u-bend measured at .090" and the thinnest stretched section measured at .050"

A 16ga tube starts at .065, it's going to get thinner on the outer bend. Sounds like your bend started life as .090 wall tubing.

Actually I appreciate when people let me know, we have 2 computers here, and one of them just WILL NOT pop up PMs. We have turned off the pop up blocker, and tried everything

I get it now.. I didn't want to sound rude or anything, I was just really curious as to why people do that.
