i already searched for this before posting:

i have a 97 ex 4dr and there is a clicking noise coming from the passenger side on turns AND WHEN accelerating (yes, even going straight). all the posts i read said if clicking on turns...than it is the cv joint. the only thing is that mine does it while accelerating as well. any ideas?

ps i want to avoid taking it to a mechanic

 

yeah, i believe it's the cv axle.. i know it may still click while going straight, & should be fixed soon.

 

would it be a bad idea to get the entire axle at advance auto parts and put it on with a friend who has a lot of mechanical knowledge? or is it a cheap mechanic fix

 

i work at a car dealership so i wouldnt know how much cheaper it would be, my axles were clicking before, i payed $54.98 for each axle with an employee discount and payed a tech at my job $50.00 to install. from what ive heard it's not a difficult fix.

 

get the lifetime replacement ones and never buy them again
