Default Buying used equipment without gettting screwed?

Hello everyone. I found a good deal on some car audio stuff (headunit, subwoofers, amp). The seller seems legit, but is there a way to test this stuff before I buy it without having to install everything? IE, could a car audio shop test the equipment before I buy it?

After typing this, I realize that it sounds like a stupid question, but I'll post it anyway for advice. Thanks!

Yes, any good install shop should be able to test your equipment. Best Buy has a test board specifically designed for bench checks...

However, no matter where you take it, don't expect it to be free... We used to charge $10 per component...
