Default vafc2 or a hondata set up? lude running rich, want to maximize performance on a stock lude searched.

searched prelude FAQ

The reason why I want to get a system for my car is because it is running factory rich and I’m getting a large quantity of black soot on the rear end of my car. I would also like to get it tuned to maximize performance.

My prelude sh is completely stock with the exception of a cai and I plan to keep it stock. My thoughts are that hondata s300 would be over doing it but it has timing adjustment options and it’s about 300 more dollars compared to a vafc.

What should I get for a stock set up, vafc, Hondata s100, s200, or s300?

Thank you for your time

You'd lose ATTS with anything that replaces your stock ECU. So you'll probably want to stick with an AFC.

VAFC/VAFC2 not worth the money, if you want to keep the ATTS, Emanage Ultimate is the way to go.

However, your sooty bumper can likely be cured by getting a new primary O2 sensor and replacing the PCV valve (OEM only, Fram ones suck.)

is it really true that you lose atts when you use a vafc2? i didn't see that in the prelude faqs.

can i keep atts with hondata s300?

do i need to convert my 01 sh to obd1 if it isn't already to use s300?

searched but still confused. i wasted loot on the vafc2

they were referring to the hondata when they said you would loose ATTS if you replace the factory ecu. VAFC will not affect ATTS

Are you burning oil? How is the fuel economy (it could be your O2 sensor)? Stock H22 ECU's are usually only rich above 6k RPM at WOT. Do you do a lot of driving under these conditions? You could get a chipped P28 for a lot less than hondata (which requires a chipped P28 anyway).

what is so bad about the vafc2?

if you had a choice would you
A keep the lude sh stock or
B install vafc2 and get it tuned to lean out the fuel so it isn't running rich.

useful info on unhooking your battery when you have a vafc hooked up

http://www.superhonda.com/foru....html

where should i mount the vafc?

i was thinking about hiding it behind the dash somewhere

i have the bracket wedged between the air vent

where can i buy those trim brackets that allows the vafc to sit near the cigarette lighter

the trimming that i'm talking about is what is in this pix but it's cf

the guy said that it doesn't run nearly as rich as before. he also said i gained 50 hp in the upper mid range rpms. hopefully i won't get any more black soot on the *** of my car and i'll get better gas mileage.

Why did your stock car have Vtec kick in at 6300rpm?

There's something fishy about that dyno plot.
No H22 will gain 50hp with a VAFC tune.

prolly not 50 but a slight gain was a bonus for me since i got it for the sole purpose of leaning out my fuel

how long is it suppose to take for all this black soot to burn off my exhaust pipe?

i already sprayed decarb into the intake and did seafoam in the gas tank
