My vtec-e vx civic sputtered home but died next morning after i started it
Hi everyone, I have a 94 civic vx hatch and the other night it just started sputtering like it had no power, I was able to get home about 9 miles and it ran that way all the way, next morning same thing. So I started to pull plug wires off one at a time to see how much engine would drop. Anyway #1 seemed normal enough put it back and did the same with 2 and it didn't seem any drop in rpm like it wasnt working, then when i wiggled plug wire 3 to remove it
the car shut down and hasn't run since.. I bought rotor wires plugs and gapped them .44 and a coil but still down.
I did alot of research and did the tests for voltage on things but everything seems ok, main relay seems to function properly even did the bypass of 3 5 7 i believe it was to see if that would work nothing.. ck eng lightgoes off after a couple secs and relay clicks when i go to start it. I dont want to go buy a new distributor if it is something else, i figure it is getting gas, plugs seem wet, let them dry, nothing again, any ideas i am at wits end and my budget is getting short, need some good advise something i havent thought of yet.. i havent checked timing, it was due at 180k and it has 182k and have heard that it is important not to go past but i drive easy and i really dont think that is it but not sure, any ideas i am so frustrated!!!
