question about replacing oil pan gasket
I'm replacing my oil pan gasket on my 97 with the 2.7L v6 in it and I was wondering if the bolts need to be torqued to a specific amount? If anyone knows what it is or where I can get the information from. I'm figuring they have to be so you don't tighten them too much and crack the gasket. Thanks.
I don't know the torque specs, or the tightening sequence, but I can give some advise. Use a 1/4" driver (screw driver for sockets) with extension, instead of a ratchet, so you will be less inclined to break the head off of one of the bolts. tighten in a criss-cross pattern, and a little at a time, so they are all tightened the same amount until fully tight. Put some gasket sealant (hondabond) at the corners where the pan goes around the crankshaft.

Awesome, thank you. That's all I needed.
