Default 90 CRX SI Check Eng light when warm

My 1990 240k mileage baby has a check engine light about the time the temp levels out. It just started coming on here in winter. Worst lows here are about -5C. Now its a couple miles after I have heat when the temp needle reaches its normal op location when the light comes on. Reseting the ignition on the go puts the light out for a minute or so. I also have no loss of mileage or power. Thinking its an oxygen sensor, but wondering if this has been encountered before an d looking for a consensus on the fault. This is my second (first a 1988 hatch DX I put 220k+ on) honda of this generation and I would hate to be ignoring a bigger fault I can avoid with a cheap fix. Will take for a code check when I get a chance, Help appreciated thanks all.

You can check it yourself. Pull the carpet back on the passanger side underneath the dashboard. There is a sheet metal cover that protects the ecu, i cant remember if there's a hole in that cover to show you how many times the ecu blinks. Anyhow take the cover off if you must and turn ignition on, count how many times the red light on the ecu flashes. That will be your trouble code, look it up in your haynes manual. Good luck

one blink short or long? If it is short then that is o2. My car does this every once in a while and can also be reset by turning the ignition off then back on. I'm going to buy a new o2 sensor soon, but am going to check out the wiring first.

It should keep repeating the code/s. If it just flashes once when the key is turned on, that's just the bulb check.

I also noticed today that when I was coming up to a light to stop it happened when down shifting. Then I started thinking about it and that is the only time it happens. After being shut off for a while and then restarted driving, upshifting, and then coming to a stop when downshifting into 2nd it happens.

See if that is how it happens on your car. I never really noticed till today.

the light keeps blinking, but after more carefull examination it appeared the light was blinking once then repeating. This was evident since the pausse between the blinks was different. I replaced the O2 sensor for 20 bucks froma local parts store with a crimp connection. Light has not come back on since. Would like to thank chiovnidca!
