blown speaker need quick replacement help
So I blew the front passenger speaker in my 5th gen prelude. I havent taken the door off yet but I'm fairly sure the front has 6.5 component speakers. I have 4 oz audio coaxle speakers that I am not using from my old car. If I replace the blown factory component subwoofer with a coaxle speaker can I still make use of the factory tweeter? If so could anybody let me know how to hook it all up. Pics would be great.
Your car has standard 6.5" speakers, front and rear, if you have a separate tweeter it will be paralleled with the woofer, it has it's own x-over, [cap] in line.
The plug that plugs into the woofer has 4 wires, [2 per terminal], get yourself a set of these... http://www.scosche.com/scosche...HA02B or cut the Honda plug off and install ones that fit the speaker you have, it's almost plug and play.
The question is, do you have standard 6.5" speakers or over-sized 6.5" speakers.
The stock speaker is about 2" deep and uses a 5" diameter mounting hole, and use a 3 screw mounting system.

Thanks for the help. I wanna do it like today so I'm not gonna order anything I'll just cut, its easy. i can make the speakers fit, I've dealt with this problem before and I expected to do the install like you said but I just wanted to make sure I was gonna be doing it right before I took the time to do it. And just a small correction 5th gen preludes have 6.5 components front and 6x9 coaxle in the rear.
