lol well im glad you're taking it off, but there's really no good way. Just paint it black over the red or something. If not, you can always find GSR calipers at junkyards. 92-00 ex and 99-00 Si civics also have the same calipers, i believe.

I meant to put thinner on a rag and rub/wipe it on the paint, not to just pour thinner over it. Yeah that would be kinda dumb

if it were me.... I would clean them good with brake cleaner, probably removing a good bit of the paint. Scuff them with some 400 grit and paint over it. No reason to take all the paint off.
i kinda like the red caliper but at the same time i hate it. right now it looks alrite with my black slipstreams but when i put on my bronze circuit 8's its gonna look maddddd ugly. i think i might justpaint them black or just try to strip scuff it and or just strip everything

Well you've probably found out by now if you tried these methods....but aircraft remover attacks plastic and rubber. So does brake cleaner. DONT LET ANY OF THAT TOUCH YOUR RUBBER SEALS. Read the cans if you dont believe me.

That is true, but I use brake cleaner almost every day. If you let **** SOAK in it, it will mess up rubber. But it dries so fast it wont harm anything. Do you think mechanics actually mask off all rubber before spraying it? Just avoid the rubber if you can, you arent going to harm anything if it gets on there a little.

Well if youre trying to remove PAINT with brake cleaner, its gona be pretty inaffective. So you're going to have to use a TON of it...which means soaking. Mechanics spray a tiny little bit on to clean off brakes, so the rubber only gets a little sprinkle. Mechanics usually arent trying to remove paint or anything else from the outside of the caliper. Just the braking surfaces.

i used 2 razors, lots of paper towels, brake cleaner, and paint stripper in a can.
Just dont leave the paint strpper on for too long. mabye 30 seconds, then scrub it off hard.

This is what I said... not trying to get ALL of the paint off with brake cleaner.
Either way this thread has gone on far longer than necessary, just repaint the calipers black
