Default New motor for the accord

my girl has a 97 honda accord and i have been searching for a new motor for it and have only been able to find 94-96 f22b non-vtecs so after a long while of searching, i bought one from a local engine shop with about 20-50k miles on it. The guy says to make it work with the 97 honda accords I would have to swap out the oil pumps and crank angel sensor. Is there anything else I need to swap over? If so, what else would I need?

Also, will it pass emissions if i use that motor? isnt that the reason we swap oil pump and crank angel sensors? lemme know. thanks

What model Accord does your girl have? EX, LX, DX, SE?

The motor you bought, was it a F22B (DOHC non-VTEC) or a F22B2 (SOHC non-VTEC).

ok, they are the same engine except it sound like you bought a OBD1 engine when you have a OBD2 car. I'm not sure what needs to be swapped between the OBD1 and 2 engines.

you can get obd2 f22 and f23 for cheap as well, and it will be an easier swap. Less wiring/conversion harness, dizzy/fuel, resistor box, crank sensor, fuel pump to worry about. If you are sticking with f22b1/b2, you are better off just getting obd2.

I have not heard of oil pump changes either.

Good luck.
