why the hell does my crx sit at 2k rpms?
i've been having this problem since i swapped the engine and used the d16a6 intake manifold...i have everything on the manifold except the fiscv, could that be it? i mean i blocked off both the ports...it shouldnt do anything right?
there are several different things it could be.
1. Idle not adjusted properly
2. gasket leak between IM and head, or between TB and IM.
3. FITV (fast idle throttle valve)
4. IACV
here are some things to check
1. adjust idle properly
2. to check if there is a leaking gasket, start engine and spray carb cleaner on the gasket. if the carb cleaner leaks into the IM the engine will respond with increased rpms.
3 and 4. remove intake and look in TB. notice there are 2 holes about 1/2" in diameter inside the TB.
one leads to the IACV, the other leads to the FITV.
start engine and cover one hole at a time with your finger. if you cover FITV (bottom hole on the pics) hole and idle returns to normal then FITV is the problem.
here are some pics of my GSR TB and a block off plate I made for it. (I also used high temp silicone to seal the block off plate to the TB.)

try cleaning the eacv. its probably dirty. if not get a newer one from junk yard or somthing else. its more then likley this.

I am going to bet the farm on bad vaccum routing.
I had an obd1 engine and hookups on an obd0 car at first and it ran like a freaking pile. , 2 map sensors etc, and it did that too.

throttle cable is flopping i didnt care to hook it up cause i thought that it was the problem...
umm...vacuum routing, i think i did it right man. one to the map sensor on the wall, one to the evap. i plugged up the ficsv, it shouldnt make a difference anyways...and i left the egr hanging cause thats left over stuff from the hf to si swap.
