"Year-to-Year Changes
1999 Honda Accord: An antitheft system went into all '99 Accords. In LX V6 models, the power driver's seat gained a power recliner. EX models added a standard remote keyless entry system. "
Hmmm... what exactly was the antitheft system? I got the LX Model (no keyless entry system)

Anti theft system means that the key had a resistor in it. If someone try to start the car with any other means, it would disable itself. For example, you can not just go to walmart and get a key cut. That key would only work for the doors. You need a key with a properly programmed code in it to start the car. These keys cost quite a penny from the dealer ~$50+ for additional keys (or $25, dont remember). Its just one more layer of security for your car.
Thats a GREAT deal on the car though. Did you get it at a auction? I would jump on a deal like that! great find.

that's kinda funny since my 98 Accord LX V6 had a power recline feature on the driver seat...(8 way seat) and the radio has anti theft and pass key (thanks to GM) immobilizer. All 98+ accords (even the DX models) should have immobilizer and anti theft radio

The integra is a way more stolen car than the Accord. Either way, you need to protect your investment though. If you want to put in a fuel kill switch, go ahead. You can never be too paroniod with the security of your car.
Go ahead and get an alarm though.
man, and you are in Philly too. I got a free mac laptop in Philly! I love Philly craigslist!

integra's are much easier to break into (you can do it with a licence plate in under 10 seconds) and B18's sell much better than F22's, so I wouldn't worry so much about the accord being stolen.

f22? 2.3 liter is so overrated
you are only fooling yourself if you think 6th gen are harder to steal, don't even argue because i had one.
the only reason they are not jacked as often is because of the fewer/lower demand for hot parts

Just get an alarm. YOu can even get cheap ones too...depends on how much you love your car. I bought my alarm for $20 in Florida (
dont tell anyone..lol). I did a GOOD job of installing it myself though, and I think it would be hard for someone to figure out my wiring. It has saved me more than a few times from the thieves.
