you can buy a plug that hooks into oem plug that you just have to attach the wires to the back of your new head unit. thats what i did for my stereo and it was fairly simple.
did not do door speakers so i am unsure of that

yeah im aware of the connector i can get for the back of the head unit. if thats the case, then i guess im not supposed to re-wire anything, because the wires coming out of the back of that would be the stock ones.

Just buy the aftermarket harness for your vehicle, its color coordinated with your harness that came with your radio, so it makes it simple to connect....do not cut your oem harness if you do anytime your radio gets stolen those wires will be cut shorter and shorter plus you'd have to look up a wiring diagram to get the correct wires....just buy the harness its like $20 tops....smart buy.

OK, you will need a mounting kit, a harness adapter, speaker harness adapters, [if you want plug and play] any din or double din HU, and standard 6.5" speakers, [front and back].

The kit and harness and speaker adapters are not needed, but make the install a lot easier, it can be done without them.

One more thing, if there is nothing wrong with the stock speakers, start by replacing just the HU, you will be surprised at how good the stock speakers sound when they have some power driving them. 94

If you're getting one of the stereo brands that Circuit City sells, ie Pioneer, Eclipse, Panasonic, Sony etc, you should get the car harness and stereo harness from them so that it's fully plug and play. Also get the speaker adapter harnesses. If you get the car side stereo harness from any place other than CC, you'll have to wire it to the stereo harness that comes with the stereo.

thank you guys.

yeah i was looking at my manual yesterday and saw that the stock speakers have these 2-P connectors, instead of just red/black wires, so i guess the speaker harnesses you guys mention would connect to those.

stock speakers are blown, i was gonna just leave the back ones out and just replace the fronts anyway. my car is small and no room in the back seat for an avg human anyway.

yea i was looking at a major brand like pioneer. if i were to order the stuff online, is there a place to get all these harnesses? crutchfield? or is it easier to just go to circuit city or best buy? thanks again

I ordered a HU from crutchfield. Love the instructions, but i think you can find them online. But it was a poative experence, anyone can install a deck if you just take you time and know how to soder (if plugs are cut) and see colors lol
