Default 96 dx with a gsr swap question

ok guys have a 96 dx coupe....i have replaced the old non vtec harness with the correct vtec harness...i plug up my chipped p28...make sure the vtec lines are hooked up...and the vtec is still not working...does anyone have any suggestions? i have put in 3 different chips into the ecu and vtec still does not engage...any ideas?

i also just removed this gsr swap from my buddies teg...and it did work and i kno it didnt just quit in the process of the swap..

my speedo stopped working as well...the speedometer was working with the gsr ecu...when i put my chipped p28 in it with a chip speedo quit working...vtec never engaged with either ecu......somethings not right...why would a p28 ecu chipped be throwing vss code and forcing vtec not to work?

I dont think it was wired correctly, take it into a shop and have it double checked.
