If you look at the bottom left side of the console, you will see a red line. If I get this piece will there be paint showing through? What I'm asking is will the JDM piece cover the metal bracket that our stock piece uses?

it should cover that part....they prolly messed up the carpet somehow....don't worry...the metal should not show if ur car is normal

 

The metal does show.. I've got one and it will show aslong as you got usdm carpet. That is where the usdm bracket goes through the carpet to hold the usdm center console

 

mine is exactly like that, shows to little strips, ill take a pic of it tomorrow, i think you can tuck it in, im not sure, i dont worrie about it, it really does help, i like the jdm console alot

 

does the center console include those seats?!

Don't they use that console because the JDM ITR seat bolsters rub on a stock armrest?

 

What did you do with the metal brackets that stick out? Do you just cut them off?

 

The badge would go where the bolt cover goes. On a jdm type r that is where the badge is. To get the metal bracket off and get the new one on you need to unbold the two bolts holding on the e-brake cables.

A Quick Fix to close up the open carpet areas from the USDM Console is to go to a carpet store and ask if they have two small strips of that stuff they use to join to abutting carpets (Normally they will have some scrap pieces)
I don't know the name for it but it looks like a piece of thin carboard paper with a glue on it. You put it under the carpet and use this tool that they have that warms it through the carpet and the patch adheres the back of the two pieces of carpet together as one.
