oil pressure question

Default oil pressure question

my buddy is rebuilding his gsr head and he is not getting any oil pressure any help would be great pm me or post thanks
the only thing i know is that he did use a ls head gasket everything else is stock

Uhh...any more info? What's aftermarket on it? What did he change? Was it working before?

nothing is aftermarket except for pistons are from a type r and the motor only has like 60-80k on it. and it was working before yes

it actually only has about 20 minutes of running time the block and **** was sent out and completely cleaned and decked and he said that he put in like 5 1/2 quarts of oil in and it is still reading low on the dipstick

low on the dipstick doesnt tell you much on oil pressure. Does he have an oil pressure gauge?

no its completely bone stock

my buddy said that he took off the valve cover and it was not squirting oil onto the cams and the top of the head

still possible it is junk. get a guage if it read pressure coming from the block then you got a new level of problem.

even though he did send it away to get repolished and decked and **** it still could be junk?

Could be something the shop did.

Could be a bad pump from factory.
