Default Burning Oil need some help******************

Ok guys so im burning oil it seems only in first gear when i leave a stop light. There is a ton of oil smoke and then at about 3500 rpms when i shift into 2nd it goes away. The car is a 88 ef 4 door with 117,000 on the original motor. Do you guys think its the valve stem seals? I did a compression test and things came back good. What are your opinions???

Last time i checked burning oil is blue smoke, black smoke is rich. So im trying to make sure what color is his smoke. Its either valve stems or piston rings i think, but piston rings would smoke in higher rpms. have u done a vaccum test

i got blue smoke too. its from idling too long at a red. its probably needs a rebuild because the piston rings are messed up

your supposed to put a teaspoon of oil in the cylinder to find out if its piston rings.. but forget if its supposed to go up or down (compression)

blue is oil black is fuel white is coolant.
just take it to a mechanic, they should be able to tell you whats wrong in a few minutes so you dont have to dick around and ask on here to figure it out.its either piston rings or valve seals. good luck

well... first gear always will puff the most if ur car burn oil. u dont really notice it in any other gears. mine was really bad. u might just have bad rings. but u can always try what the other guys are tellin ya. but check ur compression. cuz i had that problem in my last engine. it was the rings in mine.

You might just be running rich also, ud really have to explain motor details. Go do a compression test before anything
