Manual Steering Rack vs. Power Steering Rack with PS not hooked up
Is there a noticable difference between driving a car with a manual steering rack with no power steering and a car with a power steering rack, also with no power steering.
My last car, an EK hatch, had a power steering rack, but the PS was NOT hooked up.
My new car, also an EK hatch, will have a manual steering rack, also without PS.
I'm just wondering if I'll notice a difference between the two.

I'm not 100% positive but I think they're different. My friends 94 Ex coupe with a PS rack but w/o power steering is insanely harder to parallel park than my 94 VX with manual rack. The Ex was at stock height too while my car was 2" dropped
i think that has to do with the steering ratios too. the vx steering column is easier to turn because it takes more turn of the steering wheel to accomplish the same with the PS column.
The power steering and non powersteering racks are diffrent. If you remove the power steering you really should also replace the rack. You have to make sure you keep some PS fluid in the PS rack or else it can seize .
