ok i know this is proboly a dumb question but i have a d16a6 block that has around 160,000 miles and when i took the head off the factory hone marks were very easy to see basicily the block looked brand new inside but after over 150000 miles do u think the rings are burnt ?

 

probably not but if youve got the whole thing apart you might as well change them

 

maybe the head gasket was bad and coolant got in the cylinders

i would go ahead and freshen up your rings while apart.. doin it now will save you time and money down the road
