First off, are they legal for SCCA Solo (AutoX)? Secondly, does anyone here use these and if so how well do they work?

I'd preffer not to have it so close to my head even with a helmet.
Look for other mounting options.

 

Yup...works great for solo events.

Here are some pix from what I used last season...I've since modified the camera mounting part though. I'll try and get new pix of that setup.

PS: I also ues a Sony wide angle lens, (not pictured) to give a broader view of the interior.
