need expert advice on vibration
OK so I have been experiencing allot of vibration when driving, it is not all the time, mainly at speeds over 50 MPH. It gets worse when I apply the brakes at these speeds, and when its raining it gets worse also. When I turn I can hear the axle clicking, and I know it needs to be replaced. But I'm wondering if something else could be causing the vibration as I have had to replace an axle before but never had vibration. Checking around the car, I know that its not wheel bearing as they seam to be intact. The drive axle on the P/S is cut, and I cant tell if the rotors are warped obviously.
A bad axle can cause vibration, also could be misbalanced tires or warped rotors like you said. I'd check the brakes first then move on from there.
can you describe the "vibration" more?
is it a mild pulsing? how does it affect your steering wheel?
only when you brake?
or also over bumps along the highway?
have you done a "shakedown" test on your suspension? raise the car up, shake the wheels. holding at 3 and 9 o clock positions, then at 12 and 6. the directly up and down. feel for play. try to isolate movement by putting your hand over the balljoints while shaking and identify if the play is in the balljoint. then grab the tie rod end and shake. again feel for play.

it pulsates almost as if something is vibrating. it gets really intense when braking. but also does it during normal operation, it gets worse when I go around this one particular sweeping curve when its wet out. i have not done that yet, but I will. I just pushed on the top of wheel to see if it would shake.

well, come back with results on the shakedown.
its hard enough to diagnose vibration issues, its even harder to even do it over the internet. the more information the better.
otherwise, youre just getting a bunch of guesses as to whats wrong. you need to narrow things down.
