Okay guys heres the deal, I have a 1993 Acura Integra GS. I want to put a 96-00 Type R motor in it. I know I need the tranny and all that stuff but my mane problem is, do you guys know of any good, reputable sites to get motor mounts from? What about a wireing harness?

Sorry guys I'm new to hondas and this whole swap thing. Are all B18 engine mounts the same? So a b18c5 Type R motors mounts are the same as my B18b1? And this may be a stupid question to you but I was debating over the Type R swap or the Ls/Vtec build up. I'm already getting a Vtec head to throw on this stock block untill I can either buy a Type R motor, or completely rebuild An LS/VTEC internaly. What do suppose to be the best route? Or should I just buy The Type R tear it apart and rebuild it?

If you get a type R engine [B18c5](I second HMotors), get one with an LSD cable tranny. If you don't use the tranny (your cable tranny will work fine) sell it for $800 anywhere. That's not a cheap engine. Another route is to do a GSR engine[B18c1] and use your tranny. You can increase power by swapping the head to a B16 VTEC head. You get higher compression and better cams. Either way, you'll need the ECU and to hook up for VTEC activation.

I'm doing the second option into my 1st gen CRX. I've got the B18c1 and a cable non-lsd tranny. In your car, your mounts should work as-is.

I'm also fairly new to this and mostly focused on my specific project.....so the experts can correct anything that I've said, if I'm wrong on it....but its what I'm basing my current work on.

The Type R motor will bolt into your 93 integra if you use your 93 integra motor mounts and cable transmission.

the wiring is slightly different, you will want to swap over your 93 engine harness to the ITR engine so that it plugs in correctly. Then you'll need to add a few wires for vtec, knock sensor, maybe a couple more. if you want to use the ITR ecu, you'll need to convert to OBD2 and add the additional sensors it requires. Otherwise, you can get a chipped P28 or obd1 B16a ecu to run it.

you can swap the gears and internals from the ITR transmission into your 93 cable trans case, so you can use it with your cable clutch. It has to be a 92-93 integra transmission tho (90-91 doesn't work).

well if I do the Type-R swap (wich is honestly the route I want to go) then I'm going to buy the 93 mount kit from Robearracing.com. It comes with the cable to hydraulic swap mounts. If I do indeed do this then I'm gonna buy the motor from HMotors. The whole package includes The Type-R motor, Tranny, ECU and pretty much everything else needed to run the motor. I'll get the wiring harness done by rywire.com unless I can find someone else to do it. So you guys think the Type-R is the best choice? I know it's gonna cost some money but I have two summers to finish the motor (my body will be done by the end of this summer).

you have to modify the case if you use the hydro differential tho. i did it to mine to eventualy accept my type-r diff

the best route to go would be to buy the hasport cable to hydro conversion so you can keep the superior gear ratio's and lsd. Then just buy the hasport rear mount... they havent released the driver side mount yet so the best option is energy suspension inserts.
