new trend?
owners words:
basically rat rods are forgotten american cars that are the antithesis to a nice polished hotrod . it's like saying im going to spend 20,000 on my paint job then put on some nice crazy wheels and a polished motor in it. While a rat rod was like the punk rock attitude saying expletive you to that. I'm gonna do my **** primer black and throw some **** together that I have in my backyard , and I'll make it run and look cool.

now its pretty hardcore ratrod, but i would, and this is just me, instead of the thick white walls, paint the letters on the tires white instead of solid walls. thatd probably take away from the whole idea tho...

Dont like it, potentially new trend, but still dumb IMO...
The paint & style looks 'acceptable' on old cars b/c it is assumed the orignal finish would be even more hideous. But on new cars, as if driving it off the lot didnt lower the resale value enough, this will certainlly put the last nail in the coffin

After reading Eddie's article by the hundreds you have to give lots of props on that car regardless of whether its actually going to start a new trend or not because he built that car out of his fascination with the rat rod culture.

flat black isn't the trend he's speaking of...the ratrod style is pretty sweet =P. imho flat black is the excuse for 95% who don't want to do a proper paint job.
