idle control valve
what am i looking for? --I have a 1991 crx si 1.6 and i need to replace my idle control valve. which type of valve should i be looking for? Can i use hf or do i need to use d16a? Retail prices are rediculous...
its in the back of the intake manifold. it has 1 elecrtical plug and 2 coolant plugs.
but why do you need to replace it? is the idle going up and dropping and up again?
ive found that when that happens, its just the idle screw thats needs to be adjusted again.

yeah. thats what im talking about (see, howd i know?)
before you try to mess with the EACV, just adjust the idle screw, above the throttle body. it might still have the wax seal, just scrape it away.
i know ppl are going to come in here saying to replace the EACV, follow some helms resetting procedure, or change out your TPS.
ive done all that before when it happened to me. in the end, it was just adjusting the idle screw. adjust it all the way in, then back it out until it idles at 750 again.
it happaned again like 2 weeks ago on my 88. i had a screwdriver in the car and just popped the hood and adjusted it and its fine.
