i was wondering if anyone knew the best bolt ons that cause better gas mileage or do not detrement gas mileage while gaining power? i have a 98 civic dx with a stock D16Y7

 

You're not going to see any real improvements (power wise) with bolt-on's...but a good place to start is some form of cold air intake, headers, and an exhaust system...

 

Better gas mileage? Leave it bone stock then.

 

get a d16y5 or d15z1

 

swap a d16y5 in and you'll be set. vtec-e rocks.

 

Check out gassavers.org they have lots of info on modifying you car to get the best gas mileage.

 

bolt on a cx transmission and stop driving to hear your car

 

swap out for a crx hf engine

 

put in a tornado

 

Skinny *** tires, a D16Y5 w/ a Y5 tranny. Weight reduction. Pull the AC. **** like that.

 

Pull off an injector clip or two

Try a Hot Air Intake

and VTEC-E

Jack up your tire pressure and/or get realy hard compound tires

 

i have actually noticed a mpg increase one every car ive driven when i installed an intake and k&n filter.

now this only works if you drive normal.

if you like the sound too much and drive like a jack *** street racer then mpg gets worse

my vtec hits when that motor is at redline.

 

started with bad MPG and its only gotten worse with allmymods..............
