Default vtec stopped working

So I have a little problem...

I had my vtec wired up since i put a single slam vtec in my car for a quick fix, but blah blah. Anyway, it was all wired up it would engage vtec, but sometimes it would kind of stutter when it was supposed to be engaging, someone thought it might have been because I still had the y7 injectors in, so i swapped them over to the 240cc y8 injectors. Now the car does not engage at all. When I accelerate, it gets to the point where it should be engaging vtec, and then it feels like the fuel is cut off, or there is a rev limiter and I can't push it beyond that point. I didn't know if maybe the ecu is bad, but i don't understand why it would have engaged maybe twice for me. Is there something im missing? Any help would be appreciated just so I can get this finished. If any other info is needed, i can let you know. I think I gave necessary info though.

Thanks.

What ECU are you running? Are you sure you wired VTEC up right?

im running a p2p ecu

I did not personally wire the vtec cause my buddy knew what he was doing so he did it for me. But I would think it is wired properly since it did engage twice for me.

I have a cel for knock sendor and evap canister as I don't have either one on the motor.

With the p2e ecu in, the car runs fine.

can anybody post a picture of what the knock sensor should look like? I have some extra sensors out of an ex and i don't know if this sensor might be on there or not.

WTB: Knock Sensor.

Why not just do it the right way and be done with it though. You are gonna just have to eliminate your cel's to know your **** is running right. And then start fixing the randoms.

Even if you temp fix it and it fails while driving you just wasted time and are going to have to go back and do it.

Fix it right the first time.

Well the thing is i am running a z6 in my 97 hatch. i was converting it over to obd2 with the dizzy and oil pump, but about the knock sensor i didn't think the z6 has anywhere for the knock sensor, so i was looking for an easy fix.

yea i don't want to run like ***. Im trying to get this working right. Should I get a obd2-obd1 jumper harness and get a obd1 ecu for the z6?

I can deal with running the p2e in it for now, but I have the vtec capabilities, so i might as well use it.
