Default Suspension Techniques Sway Bar Set (at SummitRacing)

My 90 STD HB came without a front bar (nor rear bar). Where can i get the front brackets (aftermarket?) to mount the front bar? I don't have access to a close junkyard. I assume the rear bar already has the necessary stuff. Thanks.

STD or standards didnt come with any front swaybar.

but really, you dont want to buy the set, just the rear.

if you really want a front swaybar, I can ship you a standard 18mm swaybar for $40 shipped, with the brackets you need. these are really common in the junkyard. its the HF bars that are not so common, and are sought after because they are actually smaller (less stiff). those i sell for $100 shipped.

I was going to get the set, then do custom gc/konis to adjust the bias. Is this not a good way of doing it? It will be a street car, but not a daily driver, just a fun alternative car to drive on the weekends.

I was thinking that since I'm goin to redo the entire suspension (ES bushings, balljoints, tierod ends, etc.) I could get the ST set and adjust everything with springs from GC (after i found my final total weight w/engine, turbo, etc)...basically to simplify the whole setup process and reduce overall costs.

I need more comments (i've searched, but found nothing very specific)

1990 Honda Civic HB STD (w/ 5spd EX tranny & gutted) -> hopefully, sohc zc (D16A6) and t25!

well first of all i think u will need si or aftermarket rlca's so u have a mounting point to attatch the sway bar... i have a dx & this is another one of the models that never came w/ the rear sway.... but from what i hear, most people like a HF sway bar in the front & the ST in the rear

This is Tysons kinda topic but from what I learned.

On a FWD you want a larger bar in back and smaller or no bar in front so the back end kicks out a bit almost like a RWD.

Check out http://www.redshiftmotorsports...at=12

Will give you a idea what you do and dont want on a FWD setup

the ST kit has adjustment for over/under steer on the rear. i'm running the front and rear both, with the rear set to "neutral" setting, if you wanted the back to kick out slightly, just set them for that. it's very easy. (this is running on a 90 DX hatch that didn't have a rear sway stock, and has Function & Form Type II's.)

whatever you choose, don't run it hard until you get used to them first
