Default H22 swap into manual 6th gen (98-02) accord

The FAQ page doesnt work. I have a 98 accord sedan with manual transmission and the SOHC vtec engine. I would like to run an h22 (maybe even an h23). I have to retain OBd2 compliance.

Any tips or links ?

What are the best donors (I'm guessing 97-01 ludes)

What mounts do I need ?

What ecu and wiring harness.

(I know I can keep my old tranny)

Also will the h22 head bolt to my bottom end?

I have done many swaps (h22 in 92 S lude and countless b-series into civics) but this is my first time dealing with this generation accord.

thank you guyz!

I am sure that as long as you have an OBD2 donor car, the swap shouldnt be much different from the ones outlined in the FAQs.

the only way I know of doing it is by converting to OBD1, the way that the preludes pull information off of the key is different than an Accord for starters, you're going to have to do a whole lot of wiring diagram studying and finding ways to backwards engineer the 2 to work with eachother, if you find a way to keep OBD2 on a 6th gen I would love to hear about it.

Find the 1996 ECU, its OBD2 and has no immobilizer. If you don't feel like doing that, the dealership has the ability to reprogram the key, but I do not know how much or how likely they are (since some are jackasses) to do it for you.

I have a 2000 Accord 4dr with a H22A. You can get a P28 ecu and chip it with Hondata and use the Hondata jumper harness like I did. Yes, you can use your stock tranny. Also all the other pieces (ie alternator, a/c, starter etc.)

You need to get a new motor mount for the driver side or have one made. It is a pretty easy swap otherwise.

You can use any year from 92 up also. I have a 92 J-Spec Prelude motor. I think its 92-96 it OBDI and 97-00 is OBDII. Probably wrong on the OBDII years.

96+ is OBDII.

97+ has the immobilizer.
